My insurance career began as a home office multi line Property and Casualty underwriter in Topeka, Kansas in 1959. I was licensed and “sat the desk” for 7 years before moving to Chanute, joining Alice’s dad, David McCune, in his agency. David McCune mentored me on the agency side of the insurance business and in 1972, David McCune retired and I purchased the agency.
